    WHO:
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association today announced additional artists who are joining the all-star lineup of the 43rd Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival, co-curated by Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington: multi-platinum group Bell Biv DeVoeRicky Bell, Mike Bivins and Ron DeVoe – on Saturday, June 17, and GRAMMY®-winning vocalist Ledisi on Sunday, June 18.

WHAT: Pioneering icons Bell Biv DeVoe (BBD) have been bridging the gap between R&B and hip-hop music with a pop feel for more than 35 years. Formed from the hugely successful 1980s vocal quintet New Edition, BBD merged the irresistible sounds of hip-hop beats, new jack swing and R&B harmonies. The group’s debut album Poison sold four million copies and featured four classic hits: the Platinum-selling title track, “Do Me,” “When Will I See You Smile Again” and “BBD...I Thought It Was Me.” The GRAMMY®-nominated group has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and their many accolades include Lifetime Achievement Awards from Soul Train and BET.

2021 GRAMMY® Award winner Ledisi is a 14-time GRAMMY®-nominated powerhouse vocalist with a career spanning almost two decades. Over her remarkable career, Ledisi has garnered three Soul Train Music awards, an NAACP Theater Award and six NAACP Image Award nominations. Born in New Orleans and raised in Oakland, Calif., she has wowed fans with her unparalleled vocals and is no stranger to the worlds of film, television and theater. This past year Ledisi starred in two films, Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story and Hallmark’s All Saints Christmas, which she also created. In addition, she portrayed Gladys Knight in the biopic Spinning Gold, which was released last month. In February, Ledisi sold out the legendary Carnegie Hall with her performance of Ledisi Sings Nina and is completing the Soul II Soul national tour with KEM and Musiq Soulchild.
