“There are a number of good singers, a few great singers, then there is Johnny Mathis.”

     Letter from Barbra Streisand

Los Angeles, CA (January 27, 2015) – Music icon Johnny Mathis makes his venue debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 8:00 PM. Joined on stage by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by his music director and pianist Scott Lavender, Mathis will perform some of his greatest hits and personal favorites. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 30, 2015, at 10:00 AM (PST).

Celebrating his 59th year in music, Johnny Mathis is Columbia Records’ longest-running artist. A sublime vocalist whose approach to pop music eclipses passing fads and trends, Mathis has performed songs in a variety of styles and categories - from music composed for stage and film to golden era jazz standards, contemporary pop hits, and holiday music, all of which has assured his reputation as one of the most enduring vocalists in music history.

Best-known for his supremely popular hits like “Chances Are," "It's Not For Me To Say," and "Misty,” Mathis has recorded more than 80 albums and has had 50 hits on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart. During his extensive career he has had three songs inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, has been nominated for five Grammy Awards, and, in 2003, Mathis was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
