    WHAT:

    Spanish conductor Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in three performances, Friday and Saturday, December 10 and 11, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, December 12, at 2 p.m. Joining him is violinist Hilary Hahn performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. The program also features Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique.



    Each season Frühbeck de Burgos returns to North America as guest conductor for the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony and the Tanglewood Music Festival. He last led the LA Phil in July of this year, at the Hollywood Bowl. Frühbeck de Burgos will receive Musical America’s Conductor of the Year award at Carnegie Hall in New York, Monday, December 13.



    Recently named Gramophone magazine's Artist of the Year, violinist Hilary Hahn is a two-time Grammy award-winning soloist celebrated for her probing interpretations, technical brilliance, and compelling presence on stage. For a decade and a half, extensive touring and acclaimed recordings have made Hahn one of the most sought-after artists on the international concert circuit.

    Upbeat Live pre-concert events take place in Walt Disney Concert Hall’s BP Hall one hour prior to each performance, and are free to all ticket holders. Eric Bromberger, violinist, Fulbright nominee and recipient of a National Endowment of the Humanities Fellowship at Yale University, hosts.

When available, choral bench seats ($18) will be released for sale to selected Philharmonic, Colburn Celebrity Series, and Baroque Variations performances beginning at noon on the Tuesday of the second week prior to the concertA limited number of $10 rush tickets for seniors and full time students may be available at the Walt Disney Concert Hall box office two hours prior to the performance.
