Julián Torres made history as the first artist in the ranchero genre to record for Death Row Records. He began singing at the tender age of 3, showcasing an innate musical aptitude.
In 2020, he was discovered by producer Fredwreck while singing the heartfelt “Amor Eterno” outside the Staple Center during a tribute to Kobe Bryant. This marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. Torres’ debut single “La Fiesta de Mi Pueblo,” penned Torres himself, was produced by multi-Grammy-winning producer Fredwreck, and its music video was helmed by DJ Pooh, known for co-writing the Friday movies with Ice Cube.
Torres’ spirited performances alongside Mariachi Cenzontle during Dodger games have earned him a following among fans. He was honored with an invitation to perform during the retirement of Fernando Valenzuela’s No. 34 jersey at Dodger Stadium in August 2023.
This past winter saw the launch of the 6-song EP Julián Torres y Mariachi Cenzontle, drawing significant media attention and fan support at Snoop Dogg’s Official Store. Produced by Fredwreck, renowned for collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Britney Spears, and more, it is available across all digital platforms.
Torres has garnered significant media coverage on Univision, Telemundo, KCAL, and Espectrum; as well as on podcasts such as Tequila Bros, Así Pero Bien, True Hustle, and Foocommunity; and radio features on Buena Vibra, La Vale, The Cruz Show, and more.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Torres dedicates his time to teaching children with special needs, serving as a TA for kids with diverse abilities.
