About this Artist
Camila is a 2023/24 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program. She is a senior at her high school and studies violin with Linda Rose. As a soloist, she has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and soloed with the Palisades Symphony after winning their concerto competition. She is the concertmaster of the Archer Orchestra, a first violinist in the UCLA Symphony, and was the concertmaster of the 2023 CAIS Honors Orchestra and 2022 SPA-Juilliard Chamber Orchestra. In 2021, she conducted her school’s orchestra in a performance of her original composition, “Carousel” the first student composition ever played by the ensemble. Inspired by composers ranging from Shostakovich to Piazzolla, Camila loves to explore the style of the contemporary classical era while incorporating elements of the fiery Argentine tangos she grew up with. In her free time, Camila enjoys vintage shopping, learning Mandarin, and drinking boba.
