About this Artist
Piper Rose Rutman is a 2022/23 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program and a senior at the Archer School for Girls. Her voice has appeared in film and television projects for Netflix, Dreamworks, and ABC, and recently appeared in Sing 2 and the Disney+ film Better Nate Than Ever. In 2021 the Angel City Chorale commissioned a new arrangement of “Ahavat Olam,” her song made famous by Ben Platt. Piper sings in her school ensembles, serves as choir director and a cappella manager, and performs in the CAIS Honors Choir. She began composing in 9th grade, and now writes regularly for vocal and orchestral ensembles. Outside of music, Piper fundraises for JDRF on behalf of Type 1 diabetics, and is currently conducting research on autoimmune diseases. She tutors in math, and is an avid Lego-builder, baker, and traveler. Piper plans to study composition and biology in college.
