About this Artist

Oboist with Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Geoffrey Johnson, is both an oboe and English horn private lessons teacher in Detroit-Metro, Michigan as well as a guest oboist in major orchestras across the country, including playing regularly with Detroit Opera and broadway tours at the Fisher Theatre. He will also join the faculty at Western Michigan University as adjunct oboe professor in the fall on 2022.

In addition to countless recordings with Detroit Symphony Orchestra, he can also be heard on movie soundtracks, including second oboe and English horn in Disney's The Lion King movie & soundtrack (2019) and principal oboe on Spike Lee's film Da Five Bloods (2020)
