Benjamin Picard

About this Artist

Benjamin has served as Music Librarian for the Los Angeles Philharmonic since his appointment by Gustavo Dudamel in January 2020. Prior to that he worked in the same capacity for the London Symphony Orchestra. In these two roles he has had the privilege to prepare music for international performances by some of the foremost musical artists of our time: from Zubin Mehta to Christina Aguilera. He holds degrees in Music and Composition from the Universities of Cambridge and Sussex, and he is active in Los Angeles as a freelance composer, arranger, and copyist. Since 2022 he has worked as a mentor in the LA Phil’s Composer Fellowship program, and in 2024 he was invited to guest speak on notation and engraving at the Juilliard School of Music. In the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 2025/26 season, his music will be performed by members of the orchestra as part of the chamber music series.
