About this Artist
Noah Godard is a Californian composer based in New York City. Anchored by a sense of playfulness and an infectious curiosity, his music often reflects on our relationship with the environment, the oversaturation of modern media, and the boundary between irony and nostalgia. Noah is currently pursuing a BM in composition at the Juilliard School, studying with Nina C. Young, Amy Beth Kirsten, and Matthias Pintscher.
Noah is currently the LA Phil's Steven Stucky Composer Fellow, having previously spent three years in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program. His music has been performed at festivals including the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Yellow Barn, and MATA Jr.; and by ensembles such as Hub New Music, Sandbox Percussion, and the Lyris and Bergamot Quartets. Noah’s work has received recognition from organizations including Juilliard, ASCAP, the Entraide Française, and YoungArts.
A passionate teacher, Noah holds several teaching fellowships at Juilliard, has been a composition instructor for the Rhythmic Music Conservatory of Denmark, and is the Program Director of the NowBeat Project, a mentorship program for young composers. Aside from music, Noah studies as a bonsai artist, and enjoys baking, hiking, and studying linguistics.
