Dr. Abigail Fraeman is a planetary scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she studies the geology of Mars and other rocky bodies in the solar system. She was the deputy project scientist for the Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity from 2016-2019, and has been a member of the Mars Curiosity rover science team since 2012. Dr. Fraeman leads the Curiosity science team in the rover’s campaign at Vera Rubin ridge, and participates in rover tactical operations as a science operations coordinator. Dr. Fraeman received a B.S. in Physics and Geology & Geophysics from Yale University in 2009, and Ph.D. in Earth & Planetary Science from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014. She is the recipient of numerous NASA Group Achievement Awards and was awarded a NASA Early Career Achievement medal in 2018.
