Las Colibrí

About this Artist

Las Colibrí, or “The Hummingbirds,” are a vibrant, women-led ensemble with a passion for music, beauty, and girl power. Since their founding in 2009, they have charted new territory as one of the most distinctive groups in their genre, returning to the all-string instrumentation of early 20th-century mariachi. Embracing both tradition and style, they traded the classic traje de charro for the colorful, feminine elegance inspired by the Mexican cinematic divas of the 1940s and ’50s—and have never looked back.

Individually accomplished as scholars, instrumentalists, and vocalists, the members of Las Colibrí bring a wealth of experience from diverse professional arenas. Together, they create a signature sound defined by lush vocal harmonies, innovative arrangements, and fresh interpretations of traditional sones, huapangos, and rancheras, all delivered with a contemporary twist.

With their dynamic stage presence and deep cultural pride, Las Colibrí offer performances that are both timeless and forward-looking—celebrating tradition while giving it new life for today’s audiences. Under the direction of Susie Garcia, the ensemble invites audiences to laugh, reflect, sing along, and dance, creating an unforgettable celebration of culture, artistry, and connection.
