Juanes

About this Artist

Born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Juanes is unquestionably Latin Rock’s leading global ambassador and champion for social change. Hailed by TIME as “one of the 100 Most-Influential People in the World,” Juanes is the only artist holding TWO of Billboard’s Top-5 Latin Pop Songs of All-Time, has 13 #1 U.S. singles to his credit, dozens of groundbreaking global television appearances performed in Spanish, a Rolling Stone selection for “Best Albums of the 21st Century So Far” and has collected a staggering TWENTY-NINE combined GRAMMY & Latin Grammy Awards (from a record-setting 49 nominations for a solo artist). Known for his distinctive sound that fuses a deep love of rock & pop music with smartly crafted, multi-layered songwriting and a deep reverence for the traditional folkloric rhythms of Colombia and Latin America, Juanes has sold millions of records around the world.

After a period of stretching his sound to include fusions with a wider range of contemporary sounds, Juanes’ critically acclaimed and highly personal 2023 VIDA COTIDIANA (Everyday Life) album paired a definitive return to the electric guitar rock roots of his earliest work, with his long-praised skill as an ardent songwriter turned inward during the pandemic to reexamine his matured take on life, love, family, social concerns and more. The wide consensus reaction to the album universally declared the work as “the best album of Juanes' career” and saw his musical peers bestow repeat award recognition with the 2023 LATIN GRAMMY for “Best Pop-Rock Album” and a 2024 GRAMMY for “Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album.” Numerous media outlets hailed the album among “The Best Latin Music of 2023” including NPR, Billboard, Variety, and Rolling Stone — saying: “Three decades in the industry haven’t dampened [the] creativity… of one of the most beloved stars in the Spanish-speaking world, and his [11th] album proves it... ‘One of the Best Latin Albums of the Year’… with some of Juanes’ best writing... and razor-sharp production.”

As Juanes’ first album created with the members of his long-time touring band totally immersed in the recording sessions, it was no surprise that it was also a natural and captivating transition to the live stage. Driven by the sound of Juanes’ own recently unveiled signature Fender Stratocaster, the extensive VIDA COTIDIANA WORLD TOUR enthralled fans around the world last year, with sold-out shows throughout the country and The Los Angeles Times proclaiming the production as “A Magic Night… A Guitar Masterclass… Packed to Capacity… And One Of His Best Performances To Date.” Rolling Stone and Billboard continued the applause, hailing the sold-out tour stop in New York as both “Epic” & “Triumphant.” In total, the VIDA COTIDIANA WORLD TOUR performed 71 (large majority SOLD-OUT) concerts across 16 countries. Soon after, to wrap the year, Juanes decided to also make his dramatic film acting debut in the critically praised Colombian film Pimpinero (Blood & Oil) directed by Andi Baiz, for Amazon.

Now, with the beginning of a new creative cycle, Juanes recently unveiled a first taste of music from his next album. The project’s first single "Una Noche Contigo" arrived in April, signaling a return to a brighter sound and his heartfelt lyrical focus on the way many facets of love are the driving force in our life. The track is a classic serenade on finding a lifetime love in an unexpected moment — with musical influences spanning Juan Gabriel, Otis Redding and The Beatles.

Ahead of the album, Juanes will give a few summer appearances returning to select favorite venues such as Wolf Trap in Washington DC, Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, and the iconic Hollywood Bowl.
