LUCERO TENA demonstrates a personal, unmistakable style in her performances on the castanets, and she has distin- guished herself by promoting and bringing this instrument into the concert hall as solo instrument in orchestral works. With this aim in mind, she has introduced the role of “castanets soloist” befitting her activities.

Lucero Tena has performed as soloist in concert halls on five continents, under the baton of conductors such as Loren Maazel, Mstislav Rostropovich, Rafael Frübeck de Burgos, Jesús López Cobos, Sergiu Comissiona, Franz-Paul Decker, Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez, Peter Guth, García Navarro, and Adrian Leaper, among others.

In addition to her recitals, accompanied on classical guitar or on piano, Lucero Tena has performed as soloist with prestigious orchestras, such as the Israel Philharmonic, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Vancouver Sym- phony Orchestra, Orchestre du Capitole of Toulouse, Lyon Symphony Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony, Bayerischer Rund- funk Munich, Spanish National Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, always with much acclaim from the public and the critics. A success which was repeated at the farewell concert of the Orchestra in Lausanne; during her collaboration with Madrid RTVE Orchestra in January 2002 for the official concert marking the Spanish Presidency of the EEC; at the Festival of Nerja with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga; as well as with Galicia Symphony Orchestra, and the orchestras of Strasburg and Ottawa, among others.

Her recent engagements took her to Hannover Opera House; to La Folle Journée Festival in Nantes, Tokyo, and Warsaw; and the Philharmonie in Ber- lin under the baton of Plácido Domingo (2016). In November 2016 she performed in a gala conducted by Jesús López Cobos.

In 2017 she performed with the Orches- tra of Pau Pays du Bearn in Pau, at the Au- ditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid, and embarked on a tour with the harpist Xavier de Maistre, appearing at the Rheingau Festival in a performance which sold out weeks earlier. She has also recorded a new album with Xavier de Maistre, Serenata Española, for Sony Music.

Upcoming engagements include con- certs in Spain, her debut at the Philhar- monie de Paris with the Orchestra of Pau Pays du Bearn, as well as a continuation of her recital tour of Germany and France with Xavier de Maistre.
