About this Artist
I have been a musical eclectic all my life, and cannot put into words the sustenance and joy it has brought me. My classical cello studies began at age 7, and I composed my first album of pop songs at age 11, beginning a dual musical path that I have never left. I began composing classically in high school, and studied both cello and music composition at Stanford (BA) and UCLA (MA). My pop/classical musical eclecticism has synergized in a career in the Film and TV music industry, where I work professionally as both a session cellist and a composer/orchestrator on television shows and films such as “Dexter,” “Nikita,” “Step Up 3D,” and “12.”
As an educator, my diverse musical background has been an ongoing asset to me in my positions as the co-conductor of the LA’s Best-ETM LA After-School Youth Orchestra, a cello coach at numerous different LA and Compton schools, and as an adjunct lecturer in the Cal State Northridge music department.
I am happy to offer your program any of the following:
Cello coaching, and sectional work
Orchestral conducting
Composition classes and workshops
Chamber music coaching
Music appreciation and listening strategies, including popular and classical music synergies
Film music/industry studies
Music theory
Music history
I have often found, (and always treasure,) that good communication and understanding between creative partners leads to the most positive accomplishment of ambitious goals. I look forward to bringing any resources I am able to offer you to assist in helping your students achieve their greatest musical fulfillment!
