Pasadena Presbyterian Choir

About this Artist

The music ministry at Pasadena Presbyterian Church includes six choirs and ensembles, involving well over one hundred musicians from Kindergarten on up. An unusually capable and committed group of singers, the KIRK CHOIR serves as the church's principal choir at Sunday morning worship services. Their diverse repertoire embraces the breadth of traditional choral music, music written in our time, and a variety of music from other cultures. The choir is seen weekly on the church's television broadcast and presents several concerts each season as a part of the church's Friends of Music concert series. They have been featured on the Caltech concert series, have performed for a national convention of the American Guild of Organists, and have been heard across the U.S. on the public radio programs Pipedreams and With Hearts and Voices. The Kirk Choir was founded in the 1940s by Howard Swan, Pasadena Presbyterian's music director from 1940 to 1960. A compact disc recording of their singing, New Songs of Celebration Render, is available on the Arkay label.
