The LOS ANGELES MASTER CHORALE’s 2001-02 season marks a new era in its history, as renowned conductor, pianist and vocalist Grant Gershon assumes the Music Directorship. The Master Chorale was the first organization in the nation to offer a complete season of great choral works and is distinguished as one of the largest independent choral organizations in the United States. The Chorale often collaborates with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and this season makes its debut appearance on the Da Camera Society’s Chamber Music in Historic Sites series when it performs two concerts in the Los Angeles City Hall Rotunda in February 2002.

Three acclaimed CDs have been released on RCM, including Grammy-nominated Lauridsen-Lux Aeterna, Christmas, and the most recent recording featuring Dominick Argento’s Te Deum and Maurice Duruflé’s Messe “Cum Jubilo” with baritone Rodney Gilfry and organist Frederick Swann.

One of three founding companies at The Music Center, the Los Angeles Master Chorale will be in residence at Walt Disney Concert Hall beginning in fall 2003.
