About this Artist

Making his L.A. Phil debut under the Green Umbrella: Brooklyn Festival concert is tenor MICHAEL MARCOTTE. Michael is happy to call Manhattan home and was most recently seen in N.Y. Philharmonic's concert adaptation of Carousel that will be airing on Live from Lincoln Center (PBS) on April 26th. He also made his 92Y concert debut this past January with an evening honoring the librettist W.S. Gilbert in their Lyrics & Lyricists series. While exploring the ever-expanding crossover between new opera and musical theatre, Michael has appeared in several New York City Center Encores! productions, including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (featured on the Blondes cast album performing a never-before-recorded track: 'Coquette'), Bells Are Ringing, Anyone Can Whistle, Music in the Air and its 20th Anniversary Gala. He made his New York City Opera debut in 2011 with Stephen Schwartz’ Séance on a Wet Afternoon, and was in the world premiere of David T. Little and Royce Vavrek’s critically acclaimed new opera Dog Days last fall at Montclair State University.

Regionally he has portrayed Daniel in the west coast premiere of Stephen Schwartz’ Snapshots at TheatreWorks (Palo Alto, CA), Tony in West Side Story at El Paso Opera, Henrik in A Little Night Music at Seaside Music Theater (Daytona Beach, FL) and has appeared in productions of A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis as well as the Cohoes Music Hall in upstate New York. Michael would like to send a big THANK YOU to Matt, Royce, Alan, my team at Bret Adams Agency and the L.A. Phil for this incredible opportunity!  For more information, please visit his website at michaelmarcotteonline.com.
