During the 2015/16 season STEFAN KOCAN made his Royal Opera House debut in London in the British premiere of Enesco’s masterpiece Oedipe; returned to the Metropolitan Opera for the season premiere of Verdi’s Il trovatore opposite Anna Netrebko, Dimity Hvrostovsky, and Dolora Zajick; was featured in the international radio broadcast of Verdi’s Rigoletto; and returned to Tel Aviv to perform Mephisto in Faust. During the 2016/17 season at the Metropolitan Opera he was featured in Rigoletto, Aida, Eugene Onegin, and Don Giovanni. Kocan’s projects at the Metropolitan Opera continue through the 2019/20 season with roles in Aida, Eugene Onegin, Rigoletto, and Il trovatore.

During the 2014/15 season he sang the title role in Boito’s opera Mefistofele in a new production at the Prague State Opera that was co-produced at the Israel National Opera in Tel Aviv. In that same season, he returned to the Metropolitan Opera for the role of Ramfis in Aida. In the 2013/14 season, Kocan returned to the Metropolitan Opera for nine performances, including an HD telecast and commercial video of Borodin’s incomplete opera Prince Igor, in its very first production at the Met, singing the leading role of Konchak. Kocan was also featured as Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and as Sparafucile in Verdi’s Rigoletto during that season.
