ALFREDO GARCÍA (Tia Sarvaor) was born in Madrid, where he began his musical studies at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música and at the Escuela Superior de Canto, obtaining an Honorable Mention Award. He completed his training at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik in Vienna. He received a scholarship in Spain as well as in Austria to continue his further studies in Vienna.

His operatic repertoire includes important roles in operas by Verdi, Mozart, Britten, Falla, and Schubert, as well as zarzuelas by Barbieri, Sorozábal, and Chapí, among many others. He has performed in important European, American, and Asian theaters and auditoriums like the Staatsoper and the Karajan Centrum in Vienna, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Frederic R. Mann Auditorium in Tel Aviv, the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, among others.

Among his performances we can highlight several recitals at the Austrian Wiener Festwochen, as well as the premiere of Schubert’s Alfonso und Estrella with the Moscow Virtuosi. The premieres Alfredo García has performed include operas by José Luis Turina (Don Quijote in Barcelona), by Tomás Marco (El caballero de la triste figura), by Gazzaniga (Don Giovanni), and by Cristóbal Halffter (Lázaro). His concert repertoire covers music from the 16th century to the present; from Monteverdi to Bernstein through the great Romantic composers such as Mahler, Franck, and Brahms.

He has worked under the baton of acclaimed conductors such as Josep Pons, Adrian Leaper, José Ramón Encinar, Anthony Beaumont, Semyon Bychkov, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, and Cristóbal Halffter, among others. Alfredo García has collaborated with the many international orchestras including the Savaria Symphony Orchestra, the Dresdner Philharmonie, the New York Philharmonic, and the Israel Symphony, as well as the most important Spanish orchestras.
