Lila Downs is one of Latin America’s most influential voices an artist with a singular sound and magnetic stage presence. Rooted in Oaxaca and shaped between Mexico and the United States, she weaves Mexican tradition with jazz, cumbia, folk, and contemporary rhythms. Her music is both celebration and conscience; she turns each concert into a gathering—intimate, fearless, and deeply human—where culture is honored, stories are reclaimed, and audiences are invited to feel, dance, and remember. With a career that has taken her from iconic halls to collaborations across genres, and recognized with multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, Lila’s art remains grounded in what matters most: dignity, beauty, and the human spirit.
Lila’s 2026 album, Cambias mi Mundo (You Change My World), marks a return to her essence: deeply committed to global causes, passionate, intimate and celebratory. It is her first album made entirely of original songs, with the exception of one love song bridging Mexico and Portugal. Sonically, this return to her essence is her most acoustic and intimate work to date.
Lila has graced the stages of many of the world’s most prestigious festivals and venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl. She has been invited to sing at the White House, and performed on the Academy Awards and Latin Grammy Awards telecasts. Her music has also been included in several feature films such as The Counselor, Tortilla Soup, Real Women Have Curves, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Carlos Saura’s Fados, Mariachi Gringo, and Hecho en Mexico.
