Vibe Check Live

Tue Oct 28, 2025 8pm The Ford

Kicking off a pair of film screenings devoted to Black Horror, acclaimed podcast Vibe Check returns to The Ford stage to explore the poetry and politics of the genre and more. Described as your “favorite group chat come to life,” the weekly podcast, hosted by audio-journalist Sam Sanders, poet Saeed Jones, and theater producer Zach Stafford, takes on the news and culture of the day from a Black queer perspective. In this special presentation, the audience will be seated on stage with the hosts for an intimate Halloween experience.

Tananarive Due, an award-winning author, educator, and expert in Black Horror and Afrofuturism, joins the hosts for a conversation about her book, The Reformatory, “one of the best novels published in 2023” (NPR), as well as her work on Shudder’s Horror Noire documentary and Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone.

This program is a collaboration with the LA Phil Insight initiative, generously supported by Linda and David Shaheen.

Please note: Off-site parking and shuttle service are not available for this event.
