Commitment to LA
The Ford’s stage is home to LA creativity in its many forms. In partnership with Los Angeles County, the LA Phil stewards this historic venue to be a place that serves and showcases our community.
A shared public space
Starting in 1993, the County of Los Angeles has envisioned The Ford’s summer season as an opportunity for dance, film, music, and theater groups across the county. Since 2019, the LA Phil has stewarded the venue in alignment with that mission, showcasing the broad expressions of creativity from throughout our community.
Investing in Los Angeles artists
For three decades, The Ford has partnered with LA’s vast and diverse creative community. The FordLab Producers Program is the latest evolution in that commitment, offering a six-month intensive program that supports independent artists, presenters, and collectives. Participants receive production mentorship, marketing support, and financial support to bring their work to The Ford amphitheater.
Arts for all
Each year, the Ticket Access program engages with communities across the County of Los Angeles by distributing free tickets to select shows throughout our season. Additionally, the EBT Access Program provides discounted tickets to eligible individuals across the County of Los Angeles who have an active Medi-Cal or Cal-Fresh (EBT) card.
Community Residencies
The LA Phil’s investment in community goes beyond the stage to foster and mentor developing professionals in all The Ford’s operations. This includes work with young photographers in Las Fotos Project, a partnership with LA Commons, an apprenticeship program for event production, and working with Kawenga Pass Project.
