Isabel Signoret

Puerto Rican mezzo-soprano Isabel Signoret is a current artist with residency at the Wiener Staatsoper, and a former member of its ensemble and young artist studio. In the 24/25 season at the Wiener Staatsoper, Ms. Signoret will sing Despina in Così fan tutte, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Minerva in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria. Ms. Signoret will also make her Paris Opéra debut in a new production of Das Rheingold as Wellgunde, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado, conceived by Calixto Bieito.

During her two years as an ensemble member, her recent seasons have included Cherubino, Zerlina, Muriel in the Vienna premiere of Animal Farm, Amando in a new production of Le Grand Macabre, Minerva in a new production of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Amore/Valetto in the Vienna premiere of L’incoronazione di Poppea, Page in the a new production of Salome, Lola in Cavalleria rusticana, Tisbe in La Cenerentola, Bersi in Andrea Chénier, Blumenmädchen in a new production of Parsifal, Mercédès in Carmen, Fyodor in Boris Godunov, and Meg Page in Falstaff. In concert, she has performed Handel’s Messiah with the North Carolina Symphony as well as recitals of Spanish, Cuban, and Argentinian art song with guitar and piano.

Isabel Signoret received her masters degree from Rice University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. Ms. Signoret has performed with Merola Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, the Aspen Music Festival, and Miami Music Festival.
