About this Artist
He comes from one of Jerez's great flamenco families, the Parrillas. Juan is considered one of the leading exponents of nuevo flamenco.
He began his musical studies in flute at the Jerez Conservatory and later moved to Madrid where he studied with Andrés Carrères, soloist with the Spanish National Orchestra (ONE). Over the years, Juan has established himself as a musical reference point within the artistic scene, becoming one of the most sought-after musicians by leading figures in dance, such as Antonio Canales, Lola Greco, Aida Gómez, Rojas & Rodríguez, María Juncal, Siudy Garrido, Joaquín Cortés, Rafael Amargo, Farruquito, among others.
As a composer and musician, he has released several albums and is the author of the "Flamenco Method for Melodic Instruments" and the books "Play Flamenco with Juan Parrilla."
He was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2022 for the music of the documentary “Mis Pies Son Mi Voz” by the flamenco dancer Siudy Garrido.
