Mariachi Las Catrinas is a dynamic all-female ensemble from the Boyle Heights community of Los Angeles, led by founder, vocalist, and director Wendy Alarcón. Of Guatemalan heritage, Alarcón has dedicated her artistic life to the music of mariachi, bringing a deep respect for the tradition alongside a powerful commitment to representation and cultural exchange. Her leadership shapes the ensemble’s sound, vision, and mission to uplift women in a historically male-dominated genre.
