About this Artist
Jordan Proffer is a Los Angeles-based drummer and composer originally from Dallas and a proud University of North Texas One O’ Clock Lab Band alumni. Known for his dynamic touch and broad musical range, Jordan has performed with notable artists such as Jay Jennings (Snarky Puppy), Taj (Fred Hammond), Lizzie Morgan (Elevation Rhythm), Roy Cotton, Nick Finzer, and Scott Tixier. In 2022, Jordan was chosen as the 2022 Yamaha Young Performing Artist Drumset Winner as well as one of the finalists for the 2022 PASIC Drumset Competition. In 2026, under the leadership of Robert “Sput” Searight and Gorden Campbell, he was chosen as one of five finalists for the National Black Musicians Coalition Drum Crown Competition.
His first single, Keep Pushing (featuring Shaun Martin of Snarky Puppy/ Kirk Franklin), showcases his love for his first instruments, piano and guitar. If not writing for his own group that plays a mix of jazz fusion and gospel, Jordan also writes and arranges for orchestra. He is the string composer on Taj’s 2026 single, “Lover”, and has created various string arrangements for multiple churches. Jordan records frequently from his drum studio, recording a range of genres including jazz, gospel, funk, rock, pop, and more including film scores.
Although music may be his job, Jordan plays out of his love for it. He believes in playing music to unite people from all around the world and to inspire others to create.
