About this Artist

Soulchild Seb is a DJ/producer and co-owner of De La Playa Records & Leisure, one of the best international record shops and event spaces in Los Angeles. Seb is also the founder of the DJ outfit and party crew Tropico Internacional, which holds residencies at some of the most popular Los Angeles clubs including La Cita, The Shortstop, Bar CDMX, Resident, and Freehand Hotel’s rooftop, The Broken Shaker. Furthermore, Seb is an independent artist producing remixes and full-length original albums featuring artists of great acclaim such as Brainstory, Rudy de Anda, Todd Simon (Macy Gray!, and Bobby Easton (Parliament). His music is often played on major outlets such as KCRW and KPFK. 

With more than 15 years of experience in both digital and vinyl, Seb has accrued a vast catalogue of music including cumbia, samba, and international house. His style of mixing these genres and others with seamless transitions and employment of "turntablism" further defines his unique offering to dance floors across continents. Seb's versatility means that he does not only play larger clubs but also acclaimed restaurants and hotels such as Soho House. He was a frequent DJ at Ace Hotel in DTLA and also the founder of Swim Skool, Long Beach's first weekly pool party residency which hit capacity of 200 party goers every Sunday at the Renaissance Hotel. Seb continues to be a regular in local cultural hotspots such as Zebulon and Goldline and in CDMX in places like Tonal, Jardin Paraiso, and Cafe de Nadie.
