About this Artist

David Orlando is a Los Angeles-based vinyl DJ, artist & musician. He started DJing in 1994 and is known for the breadth and diversity of his record collection & selections, much of which was acquired through travel.

After years working the LA club circuit ("bubblin' at Dublins!"), David joined up with the crew responsible for the 25-year-running, weekly reggae night Dub Club in 2001. Many legendary performers have graced the Dub Club stage over the years, including Lee Perry, Johnny Osbourne, Jimmy Cliff, The Mighty Diamonds, Roots Radics, Ken Booth, Horace Andy, Max Romeo & many, many more.

Shortly after joining Dub Club he co-founded Punky Reggae Party (an 18-year-running DJ & live music night inspired by the UK punk/reggae bands & clubs of the late 70's & early 80's). The passion & integrity that drives these nights account for their longevity. The "Rebel Dread" Don Letts himself has blessed the Punky Reggae Party while passing through Los Angeles.

Current DJ nights include Bamboo, which focuses on records from all over Africa, South America & the Caribbean, and Strychnine, a night of 60's garage, R&B, surf & punk records.

As a drummer, David has been in the bands Warpaint and Oozelles and is currently playing drums in the new Los Angeles-based band El Colmo with Arturo Guzman of Very Be Careful.
